Year in Review 2007-8

Last year at this time when I was finishing 5th grade, I thought 6th grade was going to be very hard. I also thought the teachers were going to be mean.

Actually, I found out that 6th grade was hard. We did get a lot of homework but the teachers were nice.

I thought Math was going to be hard but it turned out to be easy. I got an A all year in math. :)

I thought Science was going to be easy but it turned out to be hard. I had a hard time paying attention and listening but I still made it to the 7th grade.

Something I had no idea about but turned out to be important was Humanities. I did not know what this meant because in my old school we called it Language Arts.

We had a big break from October 14 - 20. I was waiting for my first day in AIS/D because I came late after the break in October.

Parent conferences were in late October. They made me feel good because I got to know the teachers better.

I got my first middle school report card and I was happy because I had good grades and I have never had a bad grade before. I thought that I would have a bad grade.

I had so much fun at the Halloween Carnival. I got to know my friends much better. Also at the dance. I think they could have had better music at the dance, but it was still fun.

At the recognition assemblies I was recognized for grades, basketball and soccer. It was very awesome.

Our school play was The Great Cross Country Race.
I went to see the play and some of my best friends were in the play.

We went on a class trip to Thailand from March 2-6. I remember Geordie. He was fun to be around. I remember squashing a banana on his back. Also the camping. We built a huge bridge and had a war with the teachers.

There were a lot of changes this year. Something I was really good at was P.E. I was very excited and ready for P.E.

Something I wasn't so good at was Science. I was always off task but eventually started to pay attention.

Something I would like to improve on is my homework skills. I am not very organized so I leave my homework at home or I don't get it done.

I helped someone else by helping with their math homework. They eventually learned how to do it.

Spring Break was April 6-12. I stayed here. I was very bored because all of my friends were gone.

Some of my classmates are leaving. They are Patrick, John, Ariba, Edward, and Thomas. I want all of them to stay, but they have to go. :'(

Next year I am hoping that it is if not the same close to this year. This year was so much fun.

Congratulations on persevering through 6th grade, it sounds like there were challenging times. Your class trip sounds like fun.

Have a super summer and best wishes for 7th grade.

Sincerely,
Ms. Dietz
